Faculty Profile for Diana Timmerman
Diana was born in Germany and moved to Colorado, with her parents, when she was eight years of age and has remained in Colorado. After training and working as a Paralegal in both Corporate and Criminal law Diana and her husband, Tim, started Aussie Acres Alpacas in 1994. Alpacas became Diana's full-time business and she has never looked back at the corporate world.
Diana became a AOBA Certified Halter/Fleece/Performance Judge in 2002 and has been actively judging throughout the United States and Canada. Diana has been involved in the showing of alpacas since 1994 and it is not uncommon to find her near the showring or volunteering at shows when she is not judging.
At the present time Diana and Tim, maintain a small herd of Huacaya alpacas and in Diana's spare time she travels to judge alpaca shows and presents seminars on alpacas pertaining to, showing, fiber and breeding strategies, etc.
She does find time to spend with her family which also includes, her twenty-three year old son Jeff, three Australian Shepherds and nine goats. Diana serves on The Board Of Directors of The Alpaca Breeders of the Rockies, a Regional Affiliate of and is a faculty member of the Alpaca Breeders Fiber School. She was also very active in 4-H serving as Leader of the Leading Llamas and Alpacas 4-H Club.
